What will we study in AB this year?
Students will strive to improve reading fluency and comprehension skills with a variety of types of text including narrative, functional, and informational text. Students will learn the basic organizational patterns of various forms of printed text and use this knowledge to better understand the author's purpose and message.
Students will study many aspects of the English language in order to help them develop a better understanding of effective writing skills. Spelling, punctuation, parts of speech, vocabulary development, Greek and Latin affixes, sentence structures, appropriate use of transitions, and organization of essays are a few of the concepts we will study this year in AB.
The 7th grade history curriculum explores ancient world history, including the following units of study: Rome, Islam, Africa, China, Japan, Medieval Europe, the Renaissance, the Reformation, the Americas, the Age of Exploration, and the Age of Enlightenment.
